Here’s a cute little project that you can complete for someone buying a new home:

It’s fairly easy to do. I’ll show you how!

Just cut an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of patterned paper in half so you’ve got an 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece. Fold in both edges towards the center making a gate folded card.

Add your roof onto the card. Here’s the template for you! Just print and trace to make your roof. (I also included with the template the bushes and the inside sentiment if you don’t want to print your own!)

Fold the roof flap and attach the roof to the back of the card:

Finish up the front by adding a door and bushes and a scalloped edge to your roof:

Now finish off the inside of the card and you’re done.

For the inside I printed the sentiment to go on one side, made an empty space in the middle for writing your own message, and then used some 3L Scrapbook Adhesives white photo corners to hold the gift card.

On one I attached a little flower, and on the other I stamped and pieced a vase from the Furnishing Fun set.

Happy Crafting!

Make a Candy Corn Brad card and learn how to make your own brad colors!

I saw candy corn at the store this weekend and was reminded of how cute those little things are, plus they are just so delicious! I knew I had to do something with a candy corn shape on it so we’ll be making this card today:

In case you were wondering, yes, those are ALL brads!

But don’t worry I’ve made things easy for you! Here’s the layout I did in Illustrator! Just print it here and you’re ready to go!

I have lots of brads, and for some reason I had a TON of brass colored brads, which is weird because I think it’s safe to say I NEVER use brass colored brads on my projects! I wondered if I could maybe, just maybe, make them any color I wanted. Copic markers didn’t work too well, but you know what did?

How about some 99¢ nail polish! It worked fantastic! And for some reason the cheap nail polish comes in some great colors, including candy corn colors! Let’s paint!

The easiest way I found to paint those little brads was to put them all into a block of craft foam. (You don’t even have to unwrap the block from it’s plastic wrap. Why have foam pieces all over the place if you don’t have to?)

Aren’t they cute all lined up waiting to dry? Imagine all the colors you could make those little brass brads! (I’ll be on the lookout now for brads in not so popular colors on clearance!)

While it’s drying, print your candy corn template and use this paper piercing tool:

I promise this paper piercer will make your job a whole lot easier! I also use it to set my brads. (I’ll show you how in a sec!)

Poke holes in your template directly on top of your little colored circles and add your brads. (I set my template on top of the foam so it was easy to punch the holes in it.) I found it easiest and faster to put in about 10 brads then turn it over and set them all at once.

To use your paper piercer to set your brads on back just do this:

1. Use the tip of your paper piercer to start separating the brad back.

2. What it looks like after step 1.

3. Use the other end of the paper piercer to finish off setting the brad.

Keep going until you’re finished. Honestly, setting all the brads didn’t take as long as I thought it would!

Happy Crafting!

I love printing on fabric! Did you know that you can too? It’s actually fairly easy and I used this method to make my card today for the tutorial. I wanted a note card I could use for a variety of purposes and I wanted to incorporate some photos I took in Europe this summer. Here’s what I came up with:

To prepare your fabric for printing you’ll need to take a piece of freezer paper and fabric and cut them slightly larger than 8 ½” x 11″. Iron the fabric to the paper. (Make sure the paper is ironed with the shiny side touching the fabric.) Trim the paper to exactly 8 ½” x 11″ to fit in your printer. Get your photo ready to print, and print as you would on paper. (Note, this is not permanent. This method is best used for projects like cards, paper crafts, or wall hangings. Things that won’t get washed or come close to lots of water.)

Trim and mount your photo. If you want frayed edges, go ahead and fray them!

Super easy! Want to use my photo of the Eiffel Tower? You can download it here.

Make a Quick Thinking of You Card.

I’ve almost finished unpacking my craft room from my move! Yeah! I found just enough supplies to make a quick Thinking of You card today. I can’t wait for the next few months though! It’s my favorite time to craft! I LOVE fall and winter projects and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on for just such the occasion!

I used the following sets to make this card: Starburst shape from Outside The Box, Thinking of You sentiment from Furnishing Fun.

Just stamp the starburst using a few different colors of coordinating ink and top off the center with some coordinating colors of Stickles. Stamp the sentiment and make a border with some stickle dots. Adhere it with some foam dots and you’re finished! (I LOVE making my own background patterns with the stamps!)

Here’s a question for you: What types of crafts do you like to do for the fall? Any big plans for crafting all your gifts this year? I have a few home decor projects planned, and I’d better get started on my gift making if I want to do them all this year!

I’ve only got ONE Schlosser Designs stamp set so far, Outside The Box, but I gotta tell you — I love how versatile this set is!
Click here and below to see all the images!

Take a look at my previous post here
for a one layer Christmas card that’s so easy to replicate!

Using only 3 stamps from this set, I created this card below.
Easy peasy.

Stamped the flowers on the cardfront.
Stamped the square image in pink, then followed with the border in black.
Adhered with foam dimensionals and done!
Added ribbon trim and voila!

Just think of all the possibilities with this set!

Outside The Box.
It’s a great set!

Quickly make a butterfly 3D card!!

Spring is in the air! (OK, well, almost…it was only in the 40′s today in Chicago.) But we’ve got to think positive thoughts, right?!? Here’s a quick card to make!

Supplies:

Stamps: Furnishing Fun Stamp Set

Paper: American Crafts paper, white vellum (source unknown…my scrap pile!)

Embellishments: Opal Pearl Paint

Adhesives: Vellum Tape, Permanent Tape, and Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives

This card is a standard size of 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. To make the 3D part, cut a piece of vellum that’s 5″ x 2″. Score both ends of the vellum 3/8″ in from the side. (This will make a little flap to adhere your vellum tape to.)

Fold and place adhesive, and adhere to card. (The picture is looking down from the top. See how the vellum “pops” out a little?)

Embellish and attach butterfly cutouts. (I used some butterflies cut from the Cricut Storybook Cartridge but you could use chipboard or punched butterflies just as easily!)

Stamp Relax, Celebrate, and Live on a coordinating strip of paper, add pearl paint embellishments, and adhere.

Make & Take from this weekend's event!

Last weekend I spent some time at Craft Fancy in the Chicago area! They are the newest retailer to carry my stamps in their store and I had an awesome time meeting some of you and seeing what their design team made! This is the Make & Take that Marnie taught everyone how to make! Isn’t it great? I love the combo of sky blue and happy orange!

They used the Boughs stamp set, the sentiment from the Furnishing Fun set and the new Zing embossing powder from American Crafts. The embossing powder is awesome! It’s works well on even the finest of stamps and comes in great fresh colors! Thanks Marnie for letting me share!

The new stamp set debut, the stories behind them, and an AWESOME giveaway!! Yippee!

Yea! I’ve been waiting all week to share with you the new releases and Friday is FINALLY here! Ready for them? I’ve got a total of 4 new ones to share with you! Don’t forget to read all the way through for the info. on the GIVEAWAY!

So here’s the first one! Hexagon-A-Thon! I love hexagons and their ability to be used separately or fit nicely together to make a pattern. This set comes with 10 hexagon images that can be interchanged! The three larger borders fit nicely around the smaller ones and are easily stamped on top because they are clear!

Outside the box is a great stamp set too! This set has 4 blocks, and the fillers, so if you just want to stamp the design great, but if you want to fill it in, just stamp the coordinating image on top. The boxes along the bottom will fit easily around the blocks too if you want a little bit of a border!

Build A Border! This set is great for making backgrounds, borders, and many other things to add to your card and scrapbook layouts! I even designed the border stamps so that they are super easy to manipulate and you can even bend the borders to make circles and ovals very easily! I love what you can do with clear stamps!!

Furnishing Fun. I love Interior Design, but there’s not too many sets out there that include it. This has a cute little shelf with two vases. (The middle of the vases are different stamps so it’s easy to make it a different color (or emboss) just the middle! There’s a few different flowers for the vases as well as a few cute pears. The shelf can actually be made into a picture frame too! (I’ll do a card showing you that soon!) And of course the chair! Love the chair! Looks cute with a little pear sitting on top of it!

There you have it! My brand new releases! And until October 1st-all stamp sets will be on sale for $12.50!!! Even the previous releases! And FREE shipping on all pre-tax orders of over $40 STILL applies! Now is the time to stock up! Visit the website here or if it’s easier to purchase from Etsy you now can! I opened up an Etsy shop to make it easier on those who already have an Etsy account. Purchasing through either site will still give you the sale price, as well as FREE shipping on all orders over $40!!

************************************

This new set is great for building your own patterns and borders!

Ok LOVE this set too! I’ve always envisioned a set with multiple patterns that can be used by themselves or added to to make a full sheet of pattern, or just a border. Here’s a card I made with this set! I love the look of white stamping on kraft paper! Subtle but still a statement. Here I stamped the white with one stamp pattern and the blue dot is a different stamp pattern that goes right on top and lines up perfectly!

What do you think so far? Loving what you see? Be sure to check back Friday to see all the new stamp sets!
